Here are just a few of the nearly 200 photographs included in the new book The Green Mountain Boys of Summer.
We hope you enjoy them!

Bert Abbey and his UVM Freshman team

Bert Abbey (far right, "pitching") led the 1888 freshman to victory over the varsity.
He later elevated the UVM team from a doormat to a well-tuned powerhouse
that was among the best teams in the country.

Ray Collins

Ray Collins finished his career with 84 wins and a
stellar career ERA of 2.51.

Ray Fisher

Ray Fisher won more games, 100, than any other Green Mountain Boy
of Summer, despite playing for some awful Yankee teams.

Carlton Fisk

Carlton Fisk was elected to the National Baseball
Hall of Fame in January 2000.

Larry Gardner

Larry Gardner rose to the occasion in the postseason and finished his
career with three World Series victories, two with the Red Sox.

Len Whitehouse

Len Whitehouse is one of only two Vermont high school
players to make the majors in the last 40 years.
